Indian Dhrupad maestro, Wasifuddin Dagar enthralled Pakistani classical music lovers with two enchanting performances. Pakistan Foreign Minister, Khurshid M Kasuri and Senior Pakistan Foreign Office officials like Jalil Abbas Jilani and several other politicians were among a large number of people who attended the special performance by Dagar here last night at the residence of Indian High Commissioner, Shivshankar Menon.

Dagar, whose family members have been acknowledged masters of the Dhrupad style for the last 20 generations, sang before a large invited audience at a hotel in Islamabad on December 11.

Dagar, the first Indian musician to perform after the last year's Indo-Pak rapprochement is currently touring Pakistan at the invitation of the Indian High Commission and Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

He will be performing double shows in Lahore and Karachi this week before leaving for home.

Another Indian artist Anupriya, who specialises in violin has also toured Pakistan recently. The Delhi based artist has recorded a special programme in Lahore to be telecast by state owned PTV.
